Today’s song is from the ‘1947’ movie ‘Romeo And Juliet’,
It was directed by Akhtar Hussaain for ‘Nargis Art Concern, Bombay’ (home production of actress Nargis).
It had Nargis, Sapru, Anwar Hussain, Sunalini Devi, Nisar, John Cavas, Hameed Murad, Nazir Kashmiri, Violet, Pushpa, Abdul Rasheed, Amanullah and others.
This movie has eight songs in it and it had made its debut on the blog on 12.08.2014 with a song sung by Khayyam Saab and Zohrabai Ambalewali.
The second song from this movie followed immediately in next month and it was posted on 21.09.2014 which was sung by G.M. Durrani.
Thereafter it was a gap of almost three years after which the third song from this movie was posted on 26.07.2017. This song was a solo song sung by Zohrabai Ambalewali.
The fourth song from this movie again took more than three years to appear on the blog, and it was posted on 28.12.2020. This song again was a solo sung by Zohrabai Ambalewali.
The fifth song of this movie was discussed on 08.06.2022. So it was again after a gap of almost one and half year that the fifth song of this movie was posted after its fourth song.
Out of the eight songs of this movie, lyricist for three songs is Manohar Khanna. One song each is written by Majrooh Sultanpuri, Akhtar Shirani, Jigar Moradabadi and Faiz Ahmed Faiz.
Lyricist’s name for one song is not mentioned in HFGK Vol-II (1941-1950). However one of the audio links of this song mentions the lyricist name as Majrooh Sultanpuri for this song. We are going to listen to this song today.
*(In my earlier write-up with the songs of this movie I had mentioned two songs for Majrooh Sultanpuri considering the above link. But today I am correcting myself and leaving it to the knowledgeable readers to throw light on this song and its songs.).
