Today we get introduced to another ‘missing movie’ from the year ‘1973’ on the blog. This movie is “Kashmakash”.
I was aware of this title but I never got a chance to watch it. I think that this movie was not a successful movie and moreover it was meant for ‘Adult’ audience only so there was no possibility of watching it for me even after a gap of many years thereafter 🙂
The movie is became available on internet a year ago.
I do not remember having listened to the songs from this movie. Even after going through the list of its songs I do not find any song which I am familiar with.
“Kashmakash-1973” was directed by Feroze Chinoy for ‘De-Lux Productions’. It was produced by Seeroo Daryanani.
It had Feroz Khan, Rehman, Ramesh Deo, Zeb Rehman, Asit Sen, Seema, Sapru, Dinesh Hingoo, Ram Kamlani and Padma Khanna and Shatrughan Sinha.
Rekha, I.S. Johar and Asha Sachdev had a friendly appearance in this movie.
Story of this movie was written by Ram Kamlani. Screenplay and dialogues of this movie was written by Satish Bhatnagar and Suhridkar.
Editing of this movie was done by Babubhai Thakker.
This movie is a ‘suspense thriller’ movie as mentioned in HFGK and other sources.
This movie was passed by Censor Board on 21.11.1973 (as mentioned on this movie-page of HFGK Vol-V (1971-1980), with restricted viewing i.e. with ‘A’ certificate.
“Kashmakash-1973” has five songs. They were written by Indeevar (three songs), Verma Malik (one song) and Maya Govind (one song). Kalyanji Anandji were the music composers.
Lata Mangeshkar, Kishore Kumar, Asha Bhonsle and Shatrughan Sinha had given their voices to the songs in this movie.

Today’s song is club-dance song in a typical ‘seventies’ movies’ set-up where we can also see Ramesh Deo, Feroze Khan, Ranjeet, Ram Kamlani and many others.
Lyrics for the song are by Indeevar and music is composed by Kalyanji-Anandji.

Thanks for the rare Asha/Kalyanji Anandji collaboration song, music arrangement of this song reminds me of Kalyanji Anandji`s cabret composition for Feroze Khan`s Apradh “Ae naujawan hai sab kuchc yahaan”(the sitar arrangements in the song particularly)
and also I am not getting hold of one Kishore kumar/kalyanji anandji `s combination song, which is somewhat has got the same feel of this song, ……..try kar rahaa hoon, mil naheen rahaa……….
