With this post we introduce the movie ‘Sone Ke Haath-1973’ on the blog. This is another movie from the year ‘1973’ that was so far missing from the blog.
“Sone Ke Haath-1973” was directed by P.D. Shenoy for ‘Vindhyachal Movies’.
It was produced by R.K. Soral.
It had Sanjay, Babita, Faryal, Amrish Puri, Durga Khote, Sulochana, Jankidas, Hari Shivdasani, B.B. Bhalla, with Mona, Majnu, Vedpal Varma, Lotan, Jugnu Jain, S.N. Mishra, Prahlad Munshi, Sheru, Ramfunny, Polson and Om Prakash and others.
Vijayita, Pinchoo Kapoor, Kailash Sharma, Dr. Purswani, Shakeel, Chander Bhasin, and Arpana Choudhary had friendly appearance in this movie.
The story idea of this movie was by R.K. Soral and dialogues of this movie were written by S.P. Bakshi.
P.D. Shenoy who directed this movie who also wrote the screenplay for this movie.
Editing of this movie was done by Baburao Barodkar.
This movie was passed by Censor Board on 20.11.1973.
“Sone Ke Haath-1973” has four songs which are written by Rajinder Krishan and the music is composed by Ravi. The titles of this movie mentioned Asha Bhonsle and Usha Khanna as the playback singers for this movie.

The movie starts with actor Sanjay’s face on the screen and a voice (I am unable to identify) saying the following lines in the background …
“ye kahaani ghareebi aur anyaay ke aag se dahakte aaj ke ek naujawaan ki kahaani hai. Ye samaaj ke bhrashtaachaar se jakde huye aaj ke zameer ki kahaani hai” ….
I have neither watched this movie and nor do I have any recollections of reading about this movie or its songs during my growing years. When I went through the list of songs of this movie I failed to notice any familar song, except the one being covered in this post. After reading the lines of this song I was reminded of this song but I thought this was a well known song (it was frequently heard on radio in those years) so this must be some other song. However it turned out to be the same song. So I was surprised that such a well known song of its time was not posted on the blog till now.
Today’s song is sung by Asha Bhonsle. (Initially I had planned to take anoother song of this movie, but some information needs to be confirmed about that song).
Babita is lip-syncing in Asha Bhonsle’s voice on the screen and performing on this well-known song (?) where in Babita plays a ‘phool bechnewaali ladki’ and she is selling ‘champaa-chameli’ in this song. 🙂
Also seen in the picturisation of this song are Sulochana, Jankidas, Polson (those I can identify) and others (whom I am unable to identify) and many others.
Today 3rd March’2023 is the ninety-seventh birth anniversary of the great music composer Ravi Shankar Sharma who is known to us by the name of Ravi.
He was born on 3rd March’1926 and he passed away on 7th March’2012 leaving behind a treasure of his immortal, unforgettable and iconic songs that he composed for Hindi Film Music.
On this occasion we pay him our tributes and listen to this song composed by him.
