——————————————-———————————————

Welcome all to this post of mine which is coming after a short break. To resume the ‘musical journey’ on the blog I am once again taking readers through the ‘seventies’. T song that I am presenting is from an ‘Un-released’ movie from the ‘1970s’.

This movie is titled as ‘Raajkumaar Sooraj’.

As per HFGK Vol-V (1971-1980) this movie was a ‘Bharat Kala Mandir’ presentation.

The director’s name of this movie is not known as HFGK does not mention it.

However, during my browsing for songs of this movie I have come across a couple of links which have some information about this movie. One is from an account whose name is ‘Bharat Kala Mandir’ itself. As per this link the year of this movie is mentioned as ‘1962’ (which I guess should be correct going by the names included in the cast of this movie).

The cast of this movie has the names of Azad, Indira, B.M. Vyas, and Ratnamala.

This link also mentions A. Kumar as the director of this movie and S.P. Sharma as the producer of this movie.

However, there is another link which contains all the five songs of this movie and this link mentions the year of this movie as ‘1973’.

As per HFGK Vol-V Iqbal was the music composer for this movie. HFGK mentions five songs for this movie and it is possible that this movie had some more songs which were not recorded or not known.

Prem Bhatani and Saba Fazli are the lyricists for the songs in this movie and they penned two and three song lyrics respectively.

Today I present a wonderful duet or gem of song from this ‘unreleased/incomplete’ movie which is sung by Suman Kalyanpur and Mohd Rafi.

Listening to this song will take readers to the refreshing memories of the duets from the ‘sixties’. I am sure this duet deserves to be in the list of the ‘all time hits’ duets sung by Mohd Rafi and Suman Kalyanpur. But unfortunately it remained unknown and a ‘forgotten’ one as the movie was not completed or not released.

Let us now enjoy this classic composition and welcome ‘Raajkumaar Sooraj’ on the blog.

I would request our seniors in this group and knowledgeable readers to add more information about this movie and its songs.

Song-Dekhiye aap hamen is tarah na dekha keeje (Rajkumar Sooraj)(UR)(1962) Singers-Suman Kalyanpur, Mohd Rafi, Lyrics-Saba Fazli, MD-Iqbal

Lyrics

dekhiye aap hamen
dekhiye aap hamen
is tarah naa dekhaa keeje ae
dekhiye aap hamen
is tarah naa dekhaa keeje ae
aap bhi mere khayaalon mein
naa aaya keeje
aap bhi mere khayaalon mein
naa aaya keeje

dekhiye aap hamen
is tarah naa dekhaa keeje

aankhon hi aankhon mein
jaadu saa jagaa dete ho o
aankhon hi aankhon mein ae ae
aankhon hi aankhon mein
jaadu saa jagaa dete ho o
dil mein khaamosh saa
toofaan uthhaa dete ho
is tarah se naa aa
is tarah se naa
meri duniyaa pe
chhaayaa keeje ae
dekhiye aap hamen
is tarah naa dekhaa keeje

ye damaktaa huaa chehraa
ye machalti zulfen aen
ye damaktaa huaa aa aa
ye damaktaa huaa chehraa
ye machalti zulfen aen
nashe mein doobi huyi
haaye ye bojhal palkein
aap aise naa aa
aap aise naa mere hosh
udaayaa keeje ae

dekhiye aap hamen
is tarah naa dekhaa keeje
