“Veena”(1948) was directed by J P Advani for Jagat Pictures. The movie had Sulochana Chatterjee, Veera, Rehman, Hemavati, Leela Mishra, Girdhaari, Yakub etc in it.
“Veena”(1948) had 12 songs in it. Eleven songs have been covered in the blog.

We can make some interesting observations about the songs of “Veena”(1948) covered so far in the blog:-
(1) Three male singers- Mukesh, C Ramchandra and Manna Dey and two female singers-Ameerbai Karnataki and Shamshad Begam were used in the songs.
(2) All the songs are solo songs.
(3) The movie made its debut in 2011. After a lull of nearly two years, five songs were covered in 2013. One song each got covered in 2014 and 2017 respectively.
(4) The last three songs have been covered in 2023.
(5) In 2013, there was a gap of 33 days between song number 2 (posted on 22 march 2013) and song number three (posted on 25 April 2013), but during these two dates 33 days apart, a whopping 241 songs got added in the blog at a rate of 7.3 songs daily !
(6) The breakup of songs are Shamshad Begam-5, Mukesh-3, Ameerbai Karnataki-1, C Ramchandra-1, Manna Dey-1)
The twelfth and final song of the movie too is a solo song. This song is sung by Shamshad Begam. That way, Shamshad Begam sang as many as seven solo songs in this movie.
Pt Narendra Sharma is the lyricist of this song. Music is composed by Anil Biswas.
Only audio of the song is available. Seeing that Shamshad Begam sang so may songs in the movie, she may have sung for the leading lady. So my guess is that this song was picturised on Sulochana Chatterjee. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the picturisation of the song.
