#the Decade of Seventies –1971 – 1980 #

Today we get introduced to yet another obscure movie from the decades of seventies. The title of this movie is ‘Baghaaawat-1971’.
I had earlier introduced a movie with the same title from the year 1951 in this post. In this post that appeared on the blog in June-2023, I had mentioned that movies with this title ‘Baghaawat’ were made in 1951, 1960s or 1964, 1971 and 1982. The movie made in the sixties or from the year 1964 was introduced in the blog during March 2023. This movie of 1964 is an Un-released/shelved movie made in the decade of sixties. ‘Baghaawat-1982’ was introduced in the blog as far back as in 2013 itself.
My above post covered a song from ‘Baghaavat-1951’. In that writeup I had mentioned the fact that the movie made in 1971 with the same title was a very obscure movie. However, a couple of its songs have now become available and I am going to present them in the blog.
‘Baghaawat-1972’, a ‘costume drama’ film was directed by B. Vithhalacharya for ‘Sagar Films, Madras’. The cast of this movie had Jayalalitha, N.T. Ramarao, Devika, Rajnala, Prabhakar Reddy, Allu Ramalingaiah, Tyagraj, Hemlata, Raj Babu and others.
This movie has the censor certificate date as 21.05.1971 as per details given on this movie-page in Geet Kosh Vol-V (1971-1980).
Geet Kosh lists six songs for this movie which are all penned by Prem Dhawan and composed by T.V. Raju. Playback singers for this movie are Asha Bhonsle, S. Janaki, and Manna Dey. Asha Bhonsle’s voice features in five songs four of them being solo songs.
Today I present the first song from this movie which is in the voice of Asha Bhonsle. Only audio of this song is available.
I would request knowledgeable readers to add more information about this movie and its songs. I am not sure, but I guess that this movie might also be a Hindi dubbed movie from the movie made in south.
