Regulars must have noticed that more than three weeks have passed since the previous century post, which came about on 19 may 2013. Now, 25 days later, we finally reach the next century milestone for the blog, viz the 8200th song for the blog.

I love to liken the journey of this blog to a non stop long distance travel by road. As long as the vehicle and the road are working smoothly, one tends to pass milestones after milestones in no time. It is only when one is forced to push the brake down that one realises how fast one was travelling !

Chris Gayle’s recent record breaking feat in the 20/20 match at Bangalore, nowhere near compares with Atul ji’s performance on this blog. 😀 😀

I would challenge Chris Gayle to continue scoring this way, even for just one more match. Oh, I am so confident that he will not be able to repeat his performance. Not very soon, and neither so convincingly. But on our blog, the centuries being posted by Atul ji are remarkable – consistent, and incessant in their regularity. Just two weeks, give or take a day, and there we are, another century notched up on the board.

For some artists, it is never any effort on this blog to search new songs and track numbers posted. Their numbers continue to keep incrementing, just in the process of posting as it is. Some names are really apparent. Rafi Sb, Lata ji, Asha ji, Kishore Da etc. And hence, their milestones continue to occur, as a matter of routine, whatever may be the other compulsions to add new posts. (As I commented in an earlier post, the number of songs of Kishore Da showcased here seems proportionately lesser, only because he made his volumes in the 70s and 80s, and we have on this blog traditionally been focusing on the decades prior to that.)

This article is the 7900th song post in the blog.

Heh, heh, 7900.

It is amazing. You just turn your back, seems for maybe a couple of days, and Atul ji sneaks in a rapid fire century. And before you know it, hey, another milestone, another 100 songs up on the charts. And this one, seems to be very, very fast indeed. Like hitting a hundred before lunch on the first day in a test match. Wow. It was just 1st April that we did the previous milestone, and just on 14th today, we have the next. At this rate, it is definite that we shall hit the 8000 mark by the end of this month. 🙂
