In the 1960s through 1970s, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Stadium at Worli (Opposite Haji Ali) used to host free-style wrestling bouts. Dara Singh, Randhawa, Tiger Joginder Singh, Saudagar Singh etc among the Indians and some foreign wrestlers like King Kong used to participate in the bouts. Today’s song is from a so-called ” हास्य प्रधान ” (Humorous) film Haa Haa Hee Hee Hoo Hoo -1955.

I have seen this film and by any standards it is not a humorous film. The story is very weak. Except for the lead pair the other actors are not so well known. Both the film’s director and the Music Director were poor images of their glorious past. The songs are not worth even a one time hearing. The only redeeming feature of this film I found was , I could see 2 old time actors in it, namely Sulochana aka Ruby Meyers and H.Prakash. I saw Ruby after she was seen in her third Anarkali film-1953. I had thought that she had retired, but she was there in this film !
