With this song, I introduce a new tag viz “choodi” song. The word “choodi” dominates this song. In this song, Dev Anand and Zaahida are seen seated behind a car, with our ageless Dev Saab singing this song “choodi nahin mera dil hai dekho toote naa”.

Dev Anand was one of the leading heart throbs of Bollywood in 1950s and 60s. It is my personal opinion that he should have retired from playing teenage hero in 1960s as soon as he turned 40.

Ye mausam aaya hai

This movie “Aakraman” had Rakesh Roshan and Rekha in lead roles. The movie itself hardly did much of note. But the song “Ye mausam aaya hai” from this movie was such a nice song to listen to It is a duet sung by Kishore and Lata, but it is Kishore Kumar who steals the show.

1972 was the year when many Bollywood movie makers decided to hitch the bandwagon turned Juggernaut of Kishore Kumar- RD Burman combination. And the result were some movies that had music by R D Burman and songs by Kishore, but the movies themselves were no great shakes.

What do I say about this song ? It was a big favourite of mine as well as that of others. But those days one could only listen what was played on radio and loudspeakers. So as a song stopped playing on these media, one tended to forget the song.

Gori gori gaaon ki gori re

“Ye Gulistaan hamara” was a Dev Anand movie that few people remember today. The movie itself sank without a trace.
Ironically, this movie had a better storyline than some of the rubbish Dev Anand movies that met with better fate at the box office. May be the movie deserved it because Dev Anand in any case would not bother much about authenticity of picturisation in his movies.

Gum hai kisi ke pyaar mein

This movie “Rampur ka Laxman” is by and large forgotten by now. It had many newcomers in it, including Randhir Kapoor, Rekha, Shatrughan Sinha etc.
Movie may have been forgotten by now, but its songs are not. Though the songs were supposed to be timepass songs, many of them became popular not only during their time, but stayed popular with the passage of time as well. It speaks for the quality of these songs and their creators that we still like to listen to these songs.
