He was not just a ” Vakil” (An Advocate) by name, but including him, most of the elders of his family were B.A.LL.B. advocates. In the 1960s through 1970s, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Stadium at Worli (Opposite Haji Ali) used to host free-style wrestling bouts. Dara Singh, Randhawa, Tiger Joginder Singh, Saudagar Singh etc among the Indians and some foreign wrestlers like King Kong used to participate in the bouts. Most wrestling bouts used to take place on Saturdays/Sundays and probably one during the weekdays. Large life size cut-outs of the famous wrestlers used to be displayed at the venue as well as some prominent places. In addition, huge posters of wrestling bouts used to be displayed on hand pulled carts (Haathh Gaadi) which will move from one place to other. Thousands of leaflets of advertisement of the wrestling bouts used to be distributed at prominent places like railway stations, bus stands and other crowded places.
