“Anokhi Ada” (1948) was a Mehboob Production movie. It was produced and directed by Mehboob Khan. The movie had Surendra, Naseem Bano, Prem Adeeb, Cuckoo, Bhudo Advani, Nawab, Zeb Qureshi, Reehan, Pratima Devi, Murad, Amir Banoo, Wasker, Abdul, Haroon, Master Ghulam Mohamed etc in it.

Kishore Kumar, popularly regarded as a happy go lucky individual was deep down a sensitive soul. After making a couple of light hearted movies, Kishore Kumar began to make some serious movies on sensitive issues. But unfortunately the Hindi movie audience were not ready for such movies. Remembering Hemant Da on his birth anniversary today.

This is a very uplifting song, and a very dear memory that I carry from my radio listening days. The manner of rendition contains a conviction in the voice that simply establishes this sentiment to be true – “be a comfort to others, sacrifice your own happiness. . . in the end your own happiness will itself come to you.”
