Recently our dear Arunkumarji had begun a new series where in he was featuring songs of those actors who are not trained singers but who have sung a line or two in some song or other in their own voice. Today (29 december 2012) is Rajesh Khanna’s 70th birth anniversary. It is the first year in which Rajesh Khanna is no longer physically with us. But the memory of Rajesh Khanna will remain with us for a long time. People of my generation were just in the right age bracket to be out and out Rajesh Khanna fans. The fan following that Rajesh Khanna enjoyed during his heydays was unbelievable. The population of India has doubled from the time when Rajesh Khanna was at his peak, but I can say that no subsequent actor has come anywhere close to him in fan following.

I tend to liken the journey of this blog to a train. But nowadays I find the comparison less appropriate because a train stops at intermediate stations for a while whereas we in this blog do not stop at any of the milestones and keep going along, though we may sometimes become somewhat slower than usual for various reasons. So that way, I find the comparison of this blog with a road journey somewhat more appropriate where one need not stop anywhere, and one can see milestones going past at high speed.
