It happens quite often in this blog that when a song is discussed, readers exclaim- “what ! How come this song was not discussed as yet !”. My explanation is that there have been tens of thousands of great songs in Hindi movies, and we have discussed just a small portion of that huge collection of songs, so omission of many great songs should come as no surprise. Hopefully the number of omitted songs will gradually come down as we add more and more of such songs.

“Qawwaali Ki Raat” (1964) was obviously inspired from “Barsaat Ki Raat” (1960). The songs of “Qawwali Ki Raat” (1964) were nice in their own right, if we do not seek to make comparisons with “Barsaat Ki Raat” (1960) songs.

“Amar Raj” (1946) is a movie which was directed by Homi Wadia. The movie had Trilok Kapoor and Nirupa Roy from what little I can gather on internet.

“Maan Ke Aansoo” (1959) is a movie which had actors like Ajit, Nalini Jaiwant, Lalita Pawar, Kammo, Agha, Jankidas, Tuntun etc in it. It was a Sharad Productions movie and it was directed by Dhirubhai Desai.

“Ek Naao Do Kinaare” (1973), though a recent movie by the standards of this blog, is by and large a forgotten movie. It was a Nitin Films production and it was directed by B R Ishaara.The movie had newcomers like Hina Kausar, Rakesh Pandey, Mrinal Mukherjee and oldtimer like Manhar Desai in it.

“Amaanush” (1975) was a movie that was made in Bangla as well as Hindi. The music of the two versions remained the same with the same music director composing for both the movies. Only the lyricist (naturally) changed.

I have discussed as many as six songs from “Anpadh” (1962) including the most well known songs from the movie, viz the two ghazals from it.
Here is another song, which is a lesser known song from this movie. This song is a stage dance song which is picturised as a cultural programme on stage which is watched by a houseful audience.

“Mera Jeewan” (1976) is a “recent” movie by the standards of this blog. This movie was no great shakes at the box office, but its title song, viz Mera jeewan kuchh kaam na aaya was quite popular during its time, so much so that other songs of this movie were overshadowed as a result.
