“Jhoola” (1962) was a movie about which I had little idea. I thought that movies with this kind of title must be a movie of early 1950s when we had movies of similar sounding titles ( “Jhamela”, “Jhaanjhar” etc).

The movie “Aankh michauli” (1962) is a totally obscure movie as far as I am concerned. It had Shekhar and Mala Sinha in lead roles.

In Indian thinking, pursuit of money was considered bad and people who had too much money were considered evil. In fact, that stereotyping can be seen very much in older Bollywood movies, where the grocer aka lala ( often played by Kanhaiyalal, Jeewan etc) is always shown as an evil character.
