Choor karo choor karo abhimaan ko mere choor karo

“Swami Vivekanand” (1955), by now an obscure movie on the life of Swami Vivekanand, was produced and directed by Amar Mallick. This movie had Ajit Prakash, Suprabha Mukerji, Bharati Devi, Manoranjan Bhattacharji, Anuva Gupta etc in it. This movie obviously was not meant to entertain and as a rsult the movie did not do well at the box office.

“Madhur Milan” (1955) is a B grade movie which was produced by a production house called “Film Show”. It was directed by K G Punjwani. The movie had Mahipal, Roopmala, Nigar Sultana, Kesari, Bhudo Advani, Madan Puri etc in it.

“Bahu” (1955) is a movie which was produced by P R Films. It was directed by Shakti Samanta. The movie had Karan Dewan, Usha Kiran, Shashikala, Pran, Mumtaz Begum, Johnny Walker, Bipin Gupta, Mehmood, Kundan etc in it.

Sajjad Hussain composed only about 100 songs in his entire career lasting more than three decades. When I went through the list of his songs, I discovered some interesting facts. Though he composed very few songs, he worked with a disproportionally large number of singers and artists in these songs. In all, he worked with over 25 singers and over 25 lyricists in these songs that add up to just about 100 !
