Shah Behram is one of those B grade movies that few internet sites know anything about but every one of these sites claim to have every information about them, viz plot, reviews, comments, photographs, songs, lyrics, videos etc, but when you go to that page, the page is as bald as fight master Shetty’s pate.

“Mast Qalandar” (1955) is an obscure B grade movie that had such B grade superstars as Mahipal, Johny Walker, Helen, Tiwari, Naaz etc in it. Kedar Kapoor was the director.

“Darbaar” (1955) is a B grade movie produced by Golden Movies and directed by N Vakil. This movie had such B grade big names as Mahipal,Chitra,Kammo, Tiwari,Sundar etc. in it 😀

There have been two movies called “Sabse Bada Rupaiyya”. I was personally familiar with the Mehmood movie that was released in 1976. But the earlier movie with the same title was released in 1955.

I often discuss rare songs from obscure movies. while discussing these songs, I mention some details about the movie which I may have dug up with great difficulty.
And after sometime, I myself forget the details of the movie. when it is time for me to discuss another equally, or even more obscure song from the movie, I start wondering about the details of this movie.

“Waaman Avtaar” (1955) is one of those B grade mythological/religious movies that the mainstream movie goers did not patronise. The movie may not have been a big hit, but I guess that a movie made on such shoe string budget can always earn a small and tidy profit for its makers.

In this blog, I often get farmaishes (requests) for songs to be discussed. Most of the songs are relatively well known songs and/or songs that are easy to find. The challenge in their case is to try and accomodate them in the blog within the limitation that one can only discuss a few songs in a day.

In olden days, whenever a King had to make any public announcement, he would sent a royal announcer who would go to a public place, namely a market or a square. He would have a drummer with a huge Nagaada (an Indian musical drum) with him. The nagaadaa player was called nagaadchi.
