There are many songs picturised on a man with a female voice singing in the background, viz “Gumnaam”, “Bees saal baad” etc. In this song, it is just the reverse. Here it is a female who is seen walking near a waterfall and the male voice singing in the background. This song “sau baar janam lenge” is in the same league as “Gumnaam” song “Gumnaam hai koyi”. It is just as haunting and creates similar kind of atmosphere.

“Parasmani” was a C grade movie the likes of which rarely got noticed by mainstream audience. But this movie became a big hit because its music simply caught the imagination of the public. This movie “Hum sab Ustaad hain” was the first movie in which Laxmikant Pyarelal, then newcomers, worked with Kishore Kumar. Kishore Kumar in fact was the actor cum singer in this movie, and the association of the would be great singer and would be great music director duo in this movie resulted in some memorable songs.

Today is the day Rafi left this world 28 years ago. And the Bollywood music world truly lost its voice. Every year, we pay our heartfelt tribute to Rafi in various ways on this day. One way of paying our tribute is by playing his immortal songs.
