The two, who are the central to today’s post, have a sizable amount of work to show for their long innings in the film industry. Today (24 march 2016) is Holi, the Indian festival of colours. This happens to be the eighth Holi festival for this blog.

It goes without saying that being around for so many years and celebrating this (as well as other festivals) together is in itself a cause for celebration.

This movie had Ashok Kumar, Deepak Kumar, Vimi, Rehman, Shashikala, Leela Naidu, Jeevan, Mukri, Sunder, Tun Tun, Lalita Pawar, Nirupa Roy, Niranjan Sharma, Praveen Paul, Ravi Kant, Uma Khosla, Nita etc in it.

I have talked about Rafi singing brilliant songs for Shammi Kapoor. This led to many imitators, who would make Shammi Kapoor movies by signing up Shammi Kapoor clones. Thus we had actors like Joy Mukherjee, Vishwajeet etc who had reasonably successful careeres playing Shammi Kapoor type roles.
