“Shart”(1954) was a Filmistan movie. It was directed by Bibhuti Mitra. The movie had Deepak, Shyama, Shashikala, I S Johar, Sulochana Latkar, Jagdish Kanwal Chaman Puri, Mohana etc in it.

Hemant Kumar was a singer whose voice was tailormade for singing “chaayaageet” songs. And he had been singing such songs from the time when even this term “Chaayaageet” was not coined because the radio channel that broadcasted this programme was non existent those days.

This song from “Shart” (1954) has two versions. Female version is sung by Geeta Dutt and picturised on Shyama. Male version is sung by Hemant Kumar and picturised on Deepak.
