The film was made by Ranjit movietone. It was directed by Kidar Sharma, who also wrote the story, dialogues, screenplay and the lyrics of the film. The cast included Prithviraj Kapoor, Monica Desai, Shameem, Rajkumari Shukla, Kamla Chaterjee (wife of Kidar Sharma), Amarnath, Nagendra and many others.

Today’s song is from film Gauri-1943. It was a film made by Ranjit Movietone. The Lyrics, Story and Screenplay as well as the Direction was by Kidar Sharma. The cast of the film was Prithviraj Kapoor, Shamim, Monica Desai, Rajkumari Shukla, Brijmala, Amarnath etc etc.
The making of film Gauri-1943 had a big story behind it. This is described in great details by Kidar Sharma himself, in his autobiography ” The one and Lonely Kidar Sharma”. We will,however, discuss this in an abridged version here.

I used to remember this shloka (verses) during the telecasting of ‘Mahabharat’ on TV. In the recent period, I have once again started recalling this shloka as I find this shloka apt for Atul ji! He has been doing his karma (duties) of posting Hindi film and non-film songs faithfully since the inception of the Blog on July 19, 2008 without expectation of any kind of rewards.
