# A tribute to Talat Mahmood on his birth anniversary #

The song being presented in this post is from the ‘Bhojpuri’ film titled ‘Laagi Nahin Chhoote Raam-1963’.
I got to listen to this song on ‘Vividh Bharati’ more than a month or two back. I fell in love with this song immediately. I do not remember to have listened to this song earlier. This song is a lovely duet song sung by Lata Mangeshkar and Talat Mahmood.
Today 24th February’2023 is the ninety-ninth birth anniversary of the legendary singer, and actor Talat Mahmood. He was born on 24th February’1924 and he passed away on 9th May’1988.
As a tribute to him today we will listen to this song sung by him.
As per the statistics on the blog Talat Mahmood has sung around four hundred and fifty songs in Hindi Films. Out of these 450 songs, so far, 392 songs have been posted on the blog.
As mentioned above in this post I am presenting a song from the ‘1963’ ‘Bhojpuri’ movie ‘Laagi Nahin Chhoote Raam’.
‘Laagi Nahin Chhoote Raam-1961’ was directed by Kundan Kumar for ‘Friend’s movies’.It was produced by R. Tiwari.
It had Kumkum, Ashim Kumar, Nazir Hussain, Tiwari, Indrani Mukherjee, Anwar Hussain, Mishra, Ram Singh, Leela Mishra, Helen, Mehmood, Hasan Rizvi, Bhushan Tiwari, Polsan, Ramdev Tiwari, Mangala, Zaman, Baijul, Mastram, Garibdas, Amal Sen, Sinha, Tripathi and others.
Story of this movie was written by Vishwanath Panday. Screenplay and dialogues of this movie were written by Nazir Hussain.
Editing of this movie was done by Kamalakar.
‘Laagi Nahin Chhoote Raam-1961’ has seven songs all written by Majrooh Sultanpuri. Music for this movie was composed by Chitragupt the pioneer composer for ‘Bhojpuri’ films. Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhonsle, Manna Dey, Talat Mahmood and Suman Kalyanpur had given their voices to the songs in this movie.
One song from ‘Laagi Nahin Chhoote Raam-1963’ was posted on the occasion of ‘Rakshabandhan’ in 2016 on 18.08.2016.
Today’s song is the second song from this movie to be posted on the blog. It is sung by Lata Mangeshkar and Talat Mahmood.
Kumkum and Ashim Kumar are seen performing on this lovely song.
