“Khanzar” (1980) was a Guru Dutt Films combine production. IT was produced and directed by Atmaram, Guru Dutt’s younger brother. The movie had Reena Roy, Navin Nischol, Mehmood, Jayashree T , Reeta Bhaduri, Shekhar Kapoor, Amjad Khan, Suresh Oberoi, Jeevan, Sajjan, Raja Duggal, Murad, K.N.Singh, Mridula, Gauri Verma, Anil Chandavarkar, Pardesi, Maanik, Naidu, Bhooshan Tiwari, Sundar Taneja, Ashok Khanna etc in it.

This is a duet sung by Lata and Kishore Kumar,two of the biggest names among playback singers. But the same cannot be said about the lyricist and the music director, both of whom were debutants. Maya Govind was the lyricist. She was arguably the first female lyricist in Bollywood. Bhupen Hazarika, known more for his playback singing was the music director of this movie.
