“Sartaj” (1950) was an Omar Khayyam Productions movie. this movie was directed by S Khalil. Cast of the movie had names like Motilal, Munawwar Sultana, Cuckoo, Manorama, Ansari, Mirza Musharaf, Shyama, Rattan Bai etc.

“Apni Izzat” (1952) was a B grade movie produced by Harishchandra Productions and directed by N Bhatt. This movie had Motilal, Munawwar Sultana, Sulochana Chatterji, David Abraham, Gope, Yashodhara Katju, Yakub, Agha, Raj Mehra etc in it.

“Ek Thi Ladki” (1949) is a movie starring Motilal and Meena Shorey. This movie is famous for the iconic song Laara lappa laara lappa laai rakhdaa(Ek Thi Ladki). I have discussed as many as four songs from this movie, and all these songs are just outstanding.

“Mastaanaa” (1954) is a movie starring Motilal and Nigar Sultana, who were mainly big name actors of 1940s but who continued to act in 1950s too.
From the picturisation of this song, I guess that Motilal and Nigar Sultana play roadside toy sellers and they have a kid (Master Romi).

India is celebrating her independence day today. This independence is a result of great struggle and sacrifice, and it is upto the young generation to keep the national flag high and take the nation forward in its quest for progress.
Here is a patriotic song from “Ab Dilli Door Nahin” (1957) that exhorts kids to feel proud of their nation which belongs to them and who will have to shoulder the responsibility of the nation in future.

Chhoti Chhoti Baatein (1965) is the last movie of the great actor Motilal. Motilal had been active in the Hindi film world for more than 3 decades by then. This was his first (and also the last) venture as a director and producer. Unfortunately, Motilal passed away before the release date of the movie, and in more than one ways, this movie turns out to be his swansong.

When one mentions “Jaagte Raho”(1956) the one song that readily comes to mind is the song Zindagi khwaab hai. This movie had other nice songs in it too, such as the song Jaago Mohan pyaare jaago.
