It is a day to greet even the strangers that one meets. A day of fresh new attire, a day of favorite savories, a day of family get togethers, leisure time with friends, shopping ventures, exchange of gifts, and yes, ‘idee’ for the children. (‘Idee’ is the gift that the children received from elders today, when they meet them and pay their respects. It is a token, presented in cash or kind.)
