“Phir Bhi”(1971) was produced and directed by Shivendra Sinha for Chhavi Bhaarti, Bombay. I recall this movie as a school kid as a “boring” movie. No, I had not watched it, but I had read its story cum screen play. Those were the days when story and screenplay of movies were published with photographs were published in pocket book format. I recall reading such books for “Kati Patang”(1970) and “Bobby” (1973)as well.

There are many flavors of ‘roothhnaa’ and ‘manaanna’ in Hindi films. There are many songs that we like, which are about one person, lady or the gentleman, one of whom is upset and offended about something, and then the other person will make an effort to placate the emotional storm, sing praises, make promises, make amends and try to get the communications back on track. But did I say, lady and gentleman. Well not always – there are songs that put people of many different relationships and genders and ages, into a song trying to set right the upset moods. And I am sure readers will add many more songs of such situations to this list.
