In Bollywood movies, western music was used as early as 1940s itself. Early pioneers of this kind of music were C Ramchandra, Vinod etc.
Here we find Naushad using “western” kind of music. In fact it is more like a fusion of desi and western music.

“Gehra Daagh” was a movie of 1963. I was not aware about this movie till recently ( that is till yesterday).
This movie had Rajendra Kumar and Mala Sinha in lead roles.
Just because I was not aware of this movie does not mean this movie has unknown songs. Take this song from this movie. This song “tumhe paake hamne jahaan paa liyaa hai” is a duet sung by Asha Bhonsle and Rafi. I am sure that I have listened to this song many a times in the past, though I was not paying much attention on those occasions.

“Amar” (1954) was a movie starring Dilip Kumar, Nimmi and Madhubala. Few people today may have heard abut this movie. But as happened with many old movies of those days, this movie too has some very nice songs.

Asha Parekh, who acted as a child artist for several years, first acted as a grown up in Aasha ( 1957), though she was not credited there. She then acted in Dil Deke Dekho, Ham Hindustani and Ghooghat.
