The movie had Vijay Anand, Shabana Azmi, Rehana Sultan, Simple Kapadia, Kanwaljit Singh, Rabia Amin, Sujit Kumar, Vikas Anand, Sudha Chopora, Janakidas, Ravindra Kapoor, Viju Khote, Gautam Sareen, Dheeraj Kumar, Mohan Sherry, Sunder Taneja, Gurbachan Singh, Prem Prakash, Naveen, Surekha, Kama, Ravi Kumar etc in it.

Kuchh khone ko dil karta hai

Few people today remember this movie called “Ahsaas” (1979). This movie was a quicky movie produced by G P Sippy in the interim period between his two big movies viz. “Sholay” (1975) and “Shaan”(1980). “Ahsaas” (1979) was produced with newcomers with names that no one had heard of. Who were the lead pair in this movie ? Frankly no one seems to recall including me. It was one of those few movies that I had watched first day first show ! And what a disaster of a movie it was. Now others who are into watching first day first show (FDFS), like for instance Santosh Ojha, watch blockbusters like “Trishul”. On the other hand, it is my misfortune to watch dud movies like “Ahsaas” (1979) and “Shalimaar” (1978) in FDFS. Bahut naainsaafi hai.

I had never heard this song from “Anurodh” (1977). I got to listen to this song thanks to a farmaish for this song by a reader (Imdad Ahmed) of this blog.

“Anurodh” (1977) was a Rajesh Khanna movie when his career was going downhill. In this movie he was cast opposite his sister in law viz Simple Kapadia.

Rajesh Khanna had acted opposite many actresses right from seniors like Asha Parekh and Sharmila Tagore to his contemporaries like Hema Malini and Rekha as well as juniors like Shabana Azmi and Smita Patil. There are many Bollywood stars who have acted opposite their wives before marrying them. Rajesh Khanna did not acted against Dimple, but he did something rare. He is perhaps the only leading actor who has acted against his sister in law in a movie.
