Kai baar yoon bhi dekha hai ye jo man ki seema rekha hai

on:It is one Mukesh song that is not really a sad or maudlin song. It is more like a song that reminisces about the past and takes stock of days gone by. The protagonists have tender feelings for each other, but they are too diffident to express themselves.
One can notice that the language used in this song is textbook Hindi, rather than textbook Urdu that has been the traditional lingua franca of Bollywood songs. And this attempt of Yogesh has proved very effective.
This song did not prove too popular with the masses, but people who appreciated quality liked it. This song did not figure in the Binaca geetmala final, but this song won the national award for the best song of the year. This shows that the jurors of national award certainly knew quality when they heard a quality song.

Song- Kayi baar yoon bhi dekha hai ( Rajnigandha) (1974) Singer-Mukesh, Lyrics-Yogesh, MD- Salil Chowdhary
Lyrics
kayi baar yoon bhi dekha hai
ye jo man ki seemaa rekhaa hai, man todne lagtaa hai
anjaani pyaas ke peechhe, anjaani aas ke peechhe, man daudne lagtaa hai
raahon mein, raahon mein, jeewan ki raahon me
jo khile hain phool phool muskuraa ke
kaun saa phool churaa ke, rakhoo man mein sajaa ke
kayi baar yoon bhi dekha hai
ye jo man ki seema rekha hai, man todne lagtaa hai
anjaani pyaas ke peechhe, anjaani aas ke peechhe, man daudne lagtaa hai
jaanoon naa, jaanoon naa, uljhan ye jaanoon naa
suljhaaoon kaise kuchh samajh naa paaoon
kis ko meet banaaoon, kis ki preet bhulaaoon
kayi baar yoon bhi dekha hain
ye jo man ki seemaa rekhaa hai, man todne lagtaa hai
anjaani pyaas ke peechhe, anjaani aas ke peechhe, man daudne lagtaa hai
