Aaja sanam madhur chaandni mein hum

It is one of the iconic songs in Bollywood history, one that I have listened to many a times since childhood. That was in 1970s, and now we are in 2008, and this song was from circa 1950s! has this song aged, or has it become less known after all these decades ? No chance. this song continues to be just a popular as any venerable 52 year old song can expect to be. And this song is in good sprightly health too, one that is unlikely to become forgotten with passage of time. It is a timeless classic, there is no doubt about that.
And I have just talked about the audio, without touching about the picturisation. When I find out about the picturisation, it turns out that the song was picturised on the immortal screen pair of Raj Kapoor and Nargis. Like most songs picturised on the two, this song too has passed into the hall of fame of Bollywood legend.

As it turns out, songs that I present based on farmaishes turn out to be popular, and naturally so. This song was on the farmaish of Raja.

wah wah….after a long time, I am coming to this blog…and what a fantastic song to see first…this song brings back memories…Chori Chori was the only movie that I bunked in college to see….conscientious student that I was, I would never have bunked class for a movie but what to do..the whole class bunked so I just joined in…it was a matinee show running in a nearby theatre…and we said “chalo, let’s go for it”. Never regretted it…thoroughly enjoyed the movie and the songs.
