Baahon mein chaley aao hamse sanam kya parda

Posted on: December 16, 2008

The songs of “Anamika” (1973) were so nice to listen to. The lyrics of Majrooh Sultanpuri and music of R D Burman were top notch and the singers, viz. Kishore Kumar and Lata had sung the songs wonderfully.

This song “baahon me chale aao” is a sensuous song, which one typically associates with Asha Bhonsle, but it has been sung by Lata, and she has sung it so nicely.

And moreover, this song is picturised not on Helen, but on the homely girl next door Jaya Bhaduri. Surprises never cease, do they ?

It is a very nicely picturised song on Jaya Bhaduri and Sanjeev Kumar.

Song- Baahon me chale aao hamse sanam kya parda (Anamika) (1973) Singer-Lata, Lyrics- Majrooh Sultanpuri, MD- R D Burman

Lyrics

baahon mein chale aao
baahon mein chale aao
ho, hamse sanam kyaa pardaa
ho, hamse sanam kyaa pardaa
ye aaj ka nahin milan
ye sang hai umar bhar ka
baahon mein chale aao
ho, hamse sanam kyaa pardaa
ho, hamse sanam kyaa pardaa

hmmm hmmm
chale hi jaanaa hai, nazar churaake yoon
phir thaami thi saajan tumne meri kalaayi kyun
haan, chale hi jaanaa hai, nazar churaake yoon
phir thaami thi saajan tumne meri kalaayi kyun
kisi ko apnaa banaa ke chhod de aisaa koyi nahin kartaa
sh, sh, sh, sh, sh, sh
baahon mein chale aao
ho, hamse sanam kyaa pardaa
ho, hamse sanam kyaa pardaa…

kabhi kabhi kuchh to, kaho piyaa hamse
ae, kam-se-kam aaj to khulke milo zaraa hamse
hmm kabhi kabhi kuchh to, kaho piyaa hamse
ae, kam-se-kam aaj to khulke milo zaraa hamse
hai raat apni, jo tum ho apne, kisi kaa phir hamen dar kyaa
sh, sh, sh, sh, sh, sh
baahon mein chale aao
ho, hamse sanam kyaa pardaa
ho, hamse sanam kyaa pardaa
ye aaj ka nahin milan
ye sang hai umar bhar ka
shhhh
baahon mein chale aao
ho, hamse sanam kyaa pardaa
ho, hamse sanam kyaa pardaa

This is one of my all time favorite melodies – awesome tune and the voice and expressions that Lata has added to the song are extraordinary. Jaya Bhaduri and Sanjeev Kumar are great too.
