on:“Kaalia” (1980) was one of the last Amitabh Bachchan movies in which R D Burman gave music. The music of this movie was quite popular.
Here is a popular song from this movie that went “jahaan teri ye nazar hai”. This is a party song and it can also be called a showdown song where the villain of the movie, viz Amjad Khan is also present.
This song is sung by Kishore Kumar and the lyrics were written by Majrooh Sultanpuri.
Song-Jahaan teri ye nazar hai (Kaalia) (1981) Singer-Kishore Kumar, Lyrics-Majrooh Sultanpuri, MD-R D Burman
Lyrics
he
jahaan teri ye nazar hai meri jaan mujhe khabar hai
jahaan teri ye nazar hai meri jaan mujhe khabar hai
bach na sakaa koyi, aaye kitne
lambe hain mere haath itne
dekh idhar yaar, dhyaan kidhar hai
arre dekh idhar yaar, dhyaan kidhar hai
jahaan teri ye nazar hai meri jaan mujhe khabar hai
kyon nahin jaani tu ye samajhtaa
kaam nahin ye hai tere bas kaa
kukdu kuku!
kyon nahin jaani tu ye samajhtaa
kaam nahin ye hai tere bas kaa
hosh mein aa jaa dhyaan kidhar hai
arre hosh mein aa jaa dhyaan kidhar hai
jahaan teri ye nazar hai meri jaan mujhe khabar hai
meri taraf jo uthaa hai tan ke
kat ke wahi haath giraa badan se
arre meri taraf jo uthaa hai tan ke
kat ke wahi haath giraa badan se
saamne aaye kis kaa jigar hai
haan saamne aaye kis kaa jigar hai
jahaan teri ye nazar hai meri jaan mujhe khabar hai
chaal ye bandaa aisi bhi chal jaaye
band ho mutthi arre cheez nikal jaaye
gili-gili-gilii gil-gil-gil
arre chaal ye bandaa aisi bhi chal jaaye
band ho mutthi arre cheez nikal jaaye
ye bhi karishmaa dekh idhar hai
haan ye bhi karishmaa dekh idhar hai
jahaan teri ye nazar hai meri jaan mujhe khabar hai
jahaan teri ye nazar hai meri jaan mujhe khabar hai
bach na sakaa koyi, aaye kitne
lambe hain mere haath itne
dekh idhar yaar, dhyaan kidhar hai
arre dekh idhar yaar, dhyaan kidhar hai

Lovely song picturised on Amitabh.
I remember Kaalia and Desh Premee were released around the same time. Both of them had pretty good songs.

Another great track brought to life by the trio of RD, Kishore, and Big B. I remember in college when friends would come over to our room, one would always request me to play the MP3 for this song. I was a bit disappointed to find out later that this was inspired by a Persian song, but it was adapted very well for the film. I find the waltz-ish intro and the trumpet interludes fabulous!
