Prem Chopra was an actor who is “fondly” remembered for playing roles of a villainous smooth operator always lusting after the heroine.
Since he played a villain so naturally he did not get to sing and dance like a hero. In any case Bollywood villains did not need to sing a song because they were not interested in wooing the girl.
But there have been a few exceptions. I had once posted a song in which Prem Chopra was seen dancing happily in the company of Hema Malini.
In this song, Prem Chopra apparently plays a positive role. Here he goes through the proper chhannel, viz sings a song. Now, in India, proper channel does not mean singing a song directly addressed to the girl, unlike most songs in Bollywood. It means asking a female acquiantance to go and convince the girl. Yes, that is what Prem Chopra does in this song. He sings a song to a lady ( Bhabhi ? Sister?) to approach the girl that he covets, and she does that by the end of the song.
It is a song that few people may have heard of. It is sung by Rafi and it is from a movie called “Samaaj Ko Badal Daalo” (1970). Sahir Ludhianvi was the lyricist and Ravi was the music director. It is indeed a forgotten gem on many counts. I am glad that I accidentally stumbled upon it yesterday.

Hey atul
I stumbled upon this song because some one had posted ayoutube link of it on Facebook and when i rush to our blog what do i see, it has been lying here under heaps of our posts….. imagine you have discovered it in 2009 itself.
please clarify if the lady being wooed is Sharada (of south films) and who is this lady whose services Prem Chopra is using?

yes it is Uravashi Sharada(she acted in kannada movies like Maatu Tappada maga( of southern film industry
and another female artiste is KANCHANA(she was there in Teen Bahuraniyaan(enacting one of the bahu`s role alongwith Sahukar Janaki and Jayanthi)and
Kanchana also acted in a vamp`s role in Jeetendra`s Farz and enacted for the Asha Bhosle seduction song

KANCHANA is a big name in Kannada Movies also and co starred with big names of kannada movies like
