Do ghadi wo jo paas aa baithe

In 1950s, there used to be movies named after important landmarks viz “Laal Quila’,”Chandni Chowk”etc. In this series, there was one movie called “Gateway of India” (1957).
I have no idea what this movie was all about. But what I know is that this movie had Bharat Bhooshan and Madhubala in lead roles.
The movie is forgotten but once you know that the music of this movie was by Madan Mohan, then one is not wrong in assuming that this movie, even if a forgotten ( and perhaps forgettable as well) musy surely have some nice songs in it.
And indeed, this movie had some fine music.
Here is a duet sung by Rafi and Lata. It is picturised on Bharat Bhooshan and Madhubala, of course.

Words are insufficient for this beautiful song – Whom to praise – the genius of Madan Ji or the invisible Gaint called Rajinder Krishnan Ji or the Melliflous voice of Mohd Rafi Sahabi or Lata Ji or the beauty of Madhubala. Can we have these kind of people somewhere in our vicinity. Thank you for posting this iconic song

One of the emmotional song which could never exist in future , the pain of love expressed by actor is very emmotional, if someone listen this song who has fallen in love may have tears in his eyes whenever he listens to this song & the music is also heart touching

Though I am a Rafi dewana from my childhood this song occured to me quite late say in my mid thirtys.
But what what a fabulous song is this and what a fool I am to discover it so late.
