But for the farmaish of this song, I was neither aware of this song nor the movie called “patang” (1960).
Chitragupta has composed the music of this movie and Rajinder Krishan is the lyricist. This song “ye duniya badi luteri” was sung by Rafi and picturised on Om Prakash . It was a public lament song, or satirical song aimed at highlighting corrupt practices in society, especially by those who were in position of power.

I seem to search for obscure movies – and at least 1 in 5 gives me a pleasant surprise. Either with the storyline or the songs.
But then some may consider my taste “hatke”. 🙂
Just watched/listened to this song again. And once again loved it. Rafi saab’s voice is so pure, you can immediately identify with it.
Btw, as you can see, I am back – and have a massive backlog to catch up on. Expect many comments to come your way again. 🙂

Indeed you have a massive backlog to clear. If you were away for three weeks, then during that period 150 more songs have been added. And a good number of these songs are songs from obscure movies.

I saw this movie a few months back. The story is just about OK (nothing great) but I liked a few songs. Like this one.
The lyrics are cute – and Rafi saab’s voice is fantastic as usual.
