Mere gunaah maaf kar

Now that I have cleared my backlog of farmaishes from 2008, it is time for me to take up the pending farmaishes of 2009. The oldest farmaish of 2009 that I have not yet posted is from “Sachchaayi” (1969).
It is a Rafi song picturised on Shammi Kapoor, but it is not the usual Shammi Kapoor song. Here Shammi Kapoor is seen in a repentant mood and goes praying at religious places of all religions and begging forgiveness for his sins.
Since I have not watched the movie (in fact I was not aware of this movie) so I am not familiar with the story, and I was not aware of this song too.
This song is written by Rajinder Krishan and its music is composed by Shankar Jaikishan.

This is not a well-known song but I do like the lyrics a lot.
Simple but powerful words of repentance.
I saw this movie as a very young boy – I still remember a song “sau baras ki zindagi se acchhe hain”. Nice song. If not posted already, could you post this pls ?
