Tujhko bhulaanaa mere bas mein nahin

“Alif Laila” (1953) was a movie starring Asha Mathur, Vijay Kumar and Nimmi. The movie apparently had the love triangle story. Of course, my guess is purely based on the songs of this movie. How did I deduce that ? well, in the earlier songs, I saw Asha Mathur and Vijay Kumar singing love songs for each other. On the other hand, the song that is the subject of discussion here has Nimmi singing a sentimental song where she expresses her love for Vijay Kumar and states that it was not possible for her to forget him.
Two ladies falling for the same man ! Some men have all the luck in the world. 😉
This song is written by Sahir Ludhianvi and it is sung by Lata. The song is picturised on Nimmi. Shyam Sundar is the music director.

Song-Tujhko bhulaanaa mere bas mein nahin (Alif Laila) (1953) Singer-Lata, Lyrics-Sahir Ludhianvi, MD-Shyam Sundar
Lyrics
dil ko dard banaane waale
teri door balaayen
sun paaye to sunta jaa
meri be-aawaaz sadaayen
tujhko bhulaanaa
mere bas mein nahin
haay
tujhko bhulaanaa
mere bas mein nahin
mere bas mein nahin
haay
tujhko bhulaanaa
mere bas mein nahin
haay tujhko bhulaanaa
do roz tere pehloo mein baske
do roz tere pehloo mein baske
gham le liye hain laakhon baras ke
guzraa zamaana
guzraa zamaana
mere bas mein nahin
haay
tujhko bhulaanaa
mere bas mein nahin
haay tujhko bhulaanaa
teri khushi tu
teri khushi tu gham detaa jaa
yaa betaab kiye jaa
lekin is taqdeer ke maare
dil ko saath liye jaa
aankhon mein aansoo
hothon pe dam hai
tera bhi gham hai
apna bhi gham hai
bigdi bananaa
bigdi bananaa
mere bas mein nahin
haay
tujhko bhulaanaa
mere bas mein nahin
haay tujhko bhulaanaa
mere bas mein nahin
mere bas mein nahin
haay tujhko bhulaanaa
