Teri yaad naa dil se jaa saki

Posted on: August 8, 2010

“‘Chaand Aur Suraj” (1965) was a movie starring Dharmendra and Tanuja, not to be confused with “Suraj Aur Chandaa” (1973) which had Sanjeev Kumar and Meeta in lead roles.

Here is a remembrance song from “Chaand Aur Suraj” (1965) where Tanuja is recalling the good old days that she spent with Dharmendra. This song, which is sung by Lata is written by Shankar Jaikishan and music is composed by Salil Chaudhary.

song-Teri yaad naa dil se jaa saki (Chaand Aur Suraj) (1965) Singer-Lata, Lyrics-Shailendra, MD-Salil Chaudhary

Lyrics

teri yaad na dil se jaa saki
teri yaad na dil se jaa saki
aati thi neend kabhi-kabhi
aaj to wo bhi na aa saki
teri yaad na dil se jaa saki
teri yaad na dil se jaa saki

taaron ke saaye mein kitne sapne
dekhe the milke hamne tumne
taaron ke saaye mein kitne sapne
dekhe the milke hamne tumne
rooth gaye tum sapne bhi roothe
un ko bhi main na manaa saki
teri yaad na dil se jaa saki
aati thi neend kabhi-kabhi
aaj to wo bhi na aa saki
teri yaad na dil se jaa saki
teri yaad na dil se jaa saki

raaten wo raaten
na din wo din hain
manzil hai muskhil
raahen kathin hain
raaten wo raaten
na din wo din hain
manzil hai muskhil
raahen kathin hain
nis din roke bhi main apne man ki
aag na haay bujhaa saki
teri yaad na dil se jaa saki
aati thi neend kabhi-kabhi
aaj to wo bhi na aa saki
teri yaad na dil se jaa saki
teri yaad na dil se jaa saki

In year 1962, Salil Chowdhury wrote and composed a Bengali song; Ami parini bujhite parini, and sang by Manabendra Mukherjee. In 1965 in film Chand aur Suraj … he used same tune for Teri yaad na Dil se ja saki…! That’s was the magic baton of Salilda!👍🏽
