One two three baby yaa yaa yaa

on:I am aware of the better known songs of “Kismat” (1968) and I have posted those songs (four of them). But even the less known songs from movies of that era were nice songs to listen to.
I had never heard this called “one two three babay yaa yaa yaa” from “Kismat” (1968) before. While looking at the list of old farmaishes, I found that this song was not yet posted.
When I found out about this song, I found that this song is in fact the first song of the movie, just after the credits roll in on the screen.
The movie begins with a few baddies seeking to get a microfilm out of a music shop vendor which has secrets vital for the baddies. In the meanwhile, the shopkeeper gets an opportunity to slip in that microfilm into the guitar that Vishwajeet brings to him for repair.
Vishwajeet takes that guitar onstage and then this song commences. The lyricist S H Bihari has an easy time writing down the lyrics seeing that the words “one two three baby yaa yaa yaa” forms the bulk of the lyrics. Even I had an easy time noting down the lyrics of this song.
The song begins with Vishwajeet (in Mahendra Kapoor’s voice) repeating the above mentioned line ad nauseum. Then Helen shimmies in. Helen ! So it is a Helen song too ! She brings the much needed zing to the proceedings.
All these while, baddies (who have forced the shopkeeper to reveal the fact that the microfilm is in the guitar) are stading patiently, waiting for the song to end. I suppose that they too liked the song just as much as I liked when I first got to hear it just a few hours ago.
Here is this delightful club song/ party song, which is also a “Helen” song. It is sung by Mahendra Kapoor and Asha Bhonsle. S H Bihari is the lyricist and O P Nayyar is the music director. It is a nice song that leads the movie watchers up to the main story of the movie that follows next.

Biswajeet’s trademark dance, with white shoes!
Night in London, Kahin Din Kahin Raat…
Typical movie of the late 60s.
Huge hit this movie was. As were the songs.
