Badi der bhai badi der bhai

I have discussed six songs from “Basant Bahaar” (1956) in the past and all those were iconic songs. I thought that there were no more songs, and certainly no more iconic songs left in the movie to be discussed.
But I was wrong, of course. I found out, on going through the list of farmaishes, that the immortal bhajan “badi de bhai kab loge khabar more Ram” is from “Basant Bahaar” (1956) and that it is not yet discussed in the blog.
So here it is. It is one of the immortal bhajans sung by Rafi in his divine voice. The song in fact has become a regulatr bhajan and many people may not be aware that this song is from a movie.
The song is written by Shailendra and its music is composed by Shankar Jaikishan. I am not clear about the actor on whom this song is picturised. I request my knowledgeable readers to identify the actor for the rest of us.

I like how the song starts–somewhere in the middle on a high note.

SJ availed wherever they desired the Rafi Saheb’s rendition capabilities at higher notes…. Shailendraji’s penmanship to express through characters in the films is again proved in this lyric…

On Man Mohan Krishna another famous Rafi Song was pictured, “Thu Hindu Banega Na Musalman Banega,Insan Ki Aulad Hai Insaan Banega” from Movie Dhool Ka Phool.

the actor featured in the song is famous character actor Manmohan krishana or manmohan kishen, he was also production controller of movies produced by yash chopra and at the end of his carreer ,he directed yash chopra produced movie “Noorie”(farooque sheikh, poonam dhillon).He acted in films like Alaap(hrishikesh mukherjee), Do badan(raj khosla),upkaar(1967)Humraaz(1967)Bees saal baad(1962),Kohraa(1964)Khaandan(1965). If my memory is right, another song from basant bahaar (sur na saje, kya gaaoon main)also featured manmohan krishna. His last film as an actor is Jeetendra starrer 1988 movie “Kanwarlal”
