In this blog, I have been discussing Sajjad Hussain’s compositions these days. I have covered nearly 40 % of all the songs that he composed in Hindi movies and finding the remaining songs is becoming a tall order as they are all rare songs, not easil available. So every day I wonder where my next Sajjad Hussain song will come from.
And much to my joy, I have been managing to discover one Sajjad Hussain song everyday for the last few days. I hope that this happy state of affairs will continue till I have covered all the remaing songs. If only wishes were horses.
Guess what is the rare Sajjad Hussain song that I have unearthed this time ? It is a rare song indeed. It is from “Dost” (1944) which is the debut movie of Sajjad Hussain as a music director. Sajjad Hussain had composed as many as nine songs for this movie. I have discussed four of these songs in the past.
Here is this song, the fifth from this movie to be discussed here. This rare song is sung by Noorjahaan and it is obviously picturised on herself as well, though the video of this song is not available.
Shams Lucknowi is the lyricist.

What ? A discovery? This is available on cassettes and CD . I have both. Cassette is about 35 year old.. The CD may be about 10 year old. Both published by HMV.
