“Ek Jhalak” (1957) is a movie starring Pradeep Kumar,Vyjyanti Mala,Anita Guha,Rajendra Kumar,Om Prakash, Mubarak, Pran etc. This movie may have been forgotten today, but this movie to my mind should be remembered for the songs and music of Hemant Kumar.
Here is a duet from this movie. This song is sung by Hemant Kumar and Geeta Dutt and both of them are at their divine best. Rajinder Krishan is the lyricist and Hemant Kumar is the music director.
Only the audio of this song is available and as such I cannot tell about the actors on whom this song is picturised. One can guess that the song was picturised on Pradeep Kumar and Vyjyanti Mala.

It appears that there were two versions of this song – Hemant-Geeta Dutt duet and Geeta Dutt solo. New audio links of both the versions :
Shabana Azmi and Nandita Sen danced on the duet version of this song in Deepa Mehta’s film FIRE (1996)

Corrections please, Lyricist`s name must be S.H.BIHARI,
According to HFGK all the 9 songs are witten by S.H.Bihari,
Rajinder Krishan has not written the songs for this movie

This song has awaken some memories.This song was a ditto tune copy of ” Cherry pink and apple blossom green ” on trumpet by the famous Louis Armstrong of the fifties in the US.It was a craze in India too during that period. I have the original piece,recorded from Internet.
