I have discussed almost all the well known Holi songs of Hindi movies in this blog. But that does not mean that I have discussed all the holi songs of Hindi movies. There are lesser known Holi songs from Hindi movies too that are interesting songs on their own right.
Most holi songs are sung by the lead actors and their friends. Here is a Holi song which is picturised on baddies. And as is there wont, they mix fun with business. Baddies have to dispose of a dead body (played by Yunus Parwez). they pass off this dead body as a punch drunk person and keep him on a thhela (cart) and ply him on the roads, while singing this boisterous Holi song. This holi song is sung by Kishore Kumar, Asha Bhonsle, Mahendra Kapoor and chorus and it is picturised on Navin Nischol, saira Bano, Ranjeet and many baddies. It is interesting to see Ranjeet lip sync in the voice of Mahendra Kapoor.
This is a Holi song with black humour, where villains use the festival of Holi for their own nefarious purposes. The lyrics of this song are written by Gulshan Baawraa. Kalyanji Anandji are the music directors. and this song also qualifies to be described as one of the few thhela songs in Hindi movies.

I remember seeing a movie years ago where this particular scene stuck in my mind. I did not remember the name of the movie but now, thanks to this post, I know it must have been Desh Drohi. Somehow I always thought it was Zakhmee (which also has a lovely Holi song – already posted).
Always satisfying when you are able to identify a movie which you’ve seen ages ago and only remember a few scenes from. 🙂
