Ang se ang lagaanaa sajan

I have discussed nearly twenty Holi songs in this blog during the three Holis that this blog has seen so far. That covers almost all the well known Holi songs and also a few songs that are not all that well known.
To round up the songs for the day, here is a Holi song of rather recent vintage (by the standards of this song, of course).
This Holi song is from ‘Darr” (1993). This song is sung by Alka Yagnik and Vinod Rathod. This song is written by Anand Bakshi and music is composed by Shiv Hari.
The song is picturised on many actors, viz Juhi Chawla,Sunny Deol, Anupam Kher,Reema Laagoo Tanvi Azmi etc. Towards the end of the song, Shahrukh Khan (who is stalking Juhi Chawla throughout the movie) makes his appearance as a dholak player, disguised in holi colours, and steals the show as far as the movie goers are concerned. it was this movie and especially this song that helped Shahrukh Khan climb the ladders of stardom.
Here is this memorable Holi song from “Darr” (1993). On this occasion, I wish a happy (and safe) holi to all my readers who are celebrating this festival today.

Ok, after searching for it for days, I finally located it just now. A few minutes after posting the above comment. 🙂
The caption just says “paraya dhan.dat” – not very helpful. 🙂
But I am SO happy to find this song. 🙂 I just LOVE it!

As usual a correction 4 Atul. Its was not Reema Lagoo in dis song but Tanvi Azmi daughter of yesteryear star Usha Kiran, sis in law of Shabana Azmi, D-I-L of Kaifi Azmi and Shaukat Azmi. wif of Cinematographer baba azmi.

Atul, there is one lovely Holi song that is not yet posted on your site and I am not able to find on youtube anymore. 😦
I have been searching for it for the last few days because I am positive it was on youtube – I have watched it lots of times.
The song I am talking about is “holi re holi” from Paraya Dhan. Lovely song!
I hope somebody reading this is able to direct me to that song on youtube or dailymotion or some such site? I can find the audio but not the video.
