Hamne apna sab kuchh khoyaa

Posted on: March 26, 2011

I have discussed as many as four songs from “Saraswati Chandra” (1967) and I was under the impression that I had already discussed this song, but I was wrong.

Here is this song from “Saraswati Chandra” (1968) which is just as iconic in my books as the four other songs from this movie that I have already discussed.

This song is sung by Mukesh and it is lip synced by Manish (one movie wonder) and Nutan (then coming to the end of her career as a leading lady).

Indeewar is the lyricist and music is composed by Kalyanji Anandji.

Song-Hamne apna sab kucch khoyaa pyaar tera paane ko (Saraswati Chandra) (1968) Singer-Mukesh,Lyrics-Indeewar,MD-Kalyanji Anandji

Lyrics

hamne apnaa sab kuchh khoyaa,
pyaar teraa paane ko
hamne apnaa sab kuchh khoyaa,
pyaar teraa paane ko
chhod diyaa kyun pyaar ne tere,
chhod diyaa kyun pyaar ne tere,
dar-dar bhatkaane ko
pyaar teraa paane ko
hamne apnaa sab kuchh khoyaa,
pyaar teraa paane ko

wo aansoo jo bah nahin paaye,
wo baaten jo kah nahin paaye
wo aansoo jo bah nahin paaye,
wo baaten jo kah nahin paaye
dil mein chhupaaye firte hain ham
ghut kar mar jaane ko
pyaar teraa paane ko
hamne apnaa sab kuchh khoyaa,
pyaar teraa paane ko

uski rahe tu jiski ho lee,
tujhko mubaarak pyaar ki doli
uski rahe tu jiski ho lee,
tujhko mubaarak pyaar ki doli
baith gaye ham gham ki chitaa par,
zindaa jal jaane ko
pyaar teraa paane ko
hamne apnaa sab kuchh khoyaa,
pyaar teraa paane ko
chhod diyaa kyun pyaar ne tere,
chhod diyaa kyun pyaar ne tere,
dar-dar bhatkaane ko
pyaar teraa paane ko
hamne apnaa sab kuchh khoyaa,
pyaar teraa paane ko

Manish has one more movie as Hero.
Mahua Film Production’s ‘Chhath Maiyya ki Mahima'(1979).
His heroine was Gayatri.
The music to this movie was given by the famous Bhupen Hazarika.
This film did a roaring business in Eastern India, notably in Bihar state, where Chhat festival is a major event every year.
