I have discussed almost all the songs of “Chhaliyaa” (1960). I should rightfully feel like that seeing that I have already discussed as many as six songs from this movie.
But there are still songs from this movie that are not yet discussed. Here is one such song. This song is sung by Lata and it is picturised on Nutan. Qamar Jalalabadi is the lyricist. Music is composed by Kalyanji Anandji. Lyrics for this song was sent to me by nahm, and that is how I realised that this song was not yet discussed here.
PS-This rare song also has some additional lines only in its audio which has now been ulpoaded by Sudhir Ji who has also shared its lyrics.

For some reason I think the tune of this song, at least parts of it are a take on a track used in the Walt Disney animation, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, which was released in the year 1937.

I believe it’s from one of Mozart’s symphony, I am not sure but having bought a record in 1968! Friend of mine involved in Bollywood during that period…

Must read and share your views…
This is one of the most energizing and deligtful song of lataji’s voice as well as golden era. Since my childhood to till now I just wondered about the lyrics of this song that something is missing from stanzas. For that I checked all YT links as well as full movie and audio CDs but all have the same lines in stanzas. If you notice you found that there is a ASYMMETRY between both the stanzas, which as per my knowledge a very very rare event at that time. Here I am not talking about todays tukbandi where this might be common. Here in first stanza after first two lines there are few lines also
thoda hai beqaraar
phoolon se baar baar karti hai pyaar
jhuki jhuki jaaye dekho phoolonki qataar
while in second stanza this part seems to be missing which creates a type of asymmetry.
Isn’t so.

I got very much disappointed to see that being having a lot of experts above comment remained unnoticed here. But finally a long search for more than eighteen years my doubt seems true.
During my teen years it was my hobby to trace lyrics of songs on paper. One day I traced the lyrics of this song but after completion I shocked that some lines in second stanza missing since then I always in search of those lines, heard this song on radio and TV hundreds of times and checked many web portals and audio video CDs and DVDs for this song but all seems alike.
Incidentally, yesterday listening recordings of Radio Ceylon on YT uploaded by “eraksoldies” I amazed to hear those missing lines first time but unfortunately after Lataji’s part the song record got interrupted and again chorus part remain puzzle. I hope some of us have full song and share full lyrics here. Meanwhile one can enjoy said lines on YT link at 10:42 to 10:47 mins :

Atul ji, Anekant Ji, Nahm ji,
I have now uploaded the rare original and complete audio version of this song. I checked with my collector friend, Zafar Bhai, in Delhi. He has been able to locate the original 78 rpm record in his collection, and has kindly shared the recording with me. I have posted it on YouTube.
Atul ji has updated this post now, to include the link for the audio version, and the mofd complete lyrics of this song.
It is such a relief to be able to get hold of the original recordings. As we have seen in so many cases, the version of the song in the film may vary somewhat from the originally recorded song. Then years later, after HMV committed the blasphemhous act of destroying a huge stock of their original masters, and they had to release LP recordings, they resorted to the audio from the sound track to pick up the songs. But by this time, the song had been irreparably modified, and the original version of the song became a rare commodity. Practically every subsequent release of the song in subsequent selections was now taken from the LP. Thus the modified version became the standard, sometimes missing even complete paragraphs.
Thanks are due to collectors like Zafar Bhai, who have preserved these original 78 rpm recordings, and have graciously shared them.

First of all very very thanks to Sudhir Sir and especially Zafar Bhai Sb for preserving the above full song with very very rare lines of second antra which is almost unavailable today. Its the first time on YT as well as any lyrics portal that this song available in full.
Due to some busy schedule I was not checked this post timely… sorry and meanwhile I have also got this full version from one of my music lover friend and was just going to post lyrics here but……..anyway its too late…. “main der karta nahin der ho jaati hai…”
BTW very thanks to Sudhir Sir for your efforts to made this song available on YT.

Writing about Nandaji, she played(2 years ago in a Vividh bharthi Afternoon Radio programme namely “UJAALE UNKI YAADON KI”)a song from Chhalia “Teri raahon mein khade hain dil thaamke”(which was directed by Manmohan desai-his directorial debut I think), while asked regarding the relationship between her and the Late Manmohan desai, her voice choked with emotions, while she told the interviewer to play this song dedicated to MANMOHAN DESAI. She told many things about the late thespian, but I rememered the song she played from the same film.
