Atul’s Song A Day- A choice collection of Hindi Film & Non-Film Songs

I love you you love me

Posted on: September 7, 2011

“Raat Andheri Thhi” (1967) is a B grade movie about which very little is known these days. Theinformation that I have been able to gather about this movie tells me that this movie had Feroz Khan, Sheikh Mukhtar, Lolita Chaterjee & Helen in it, which makes it an archtypical B grade movie of the 1960s. These movies had Sheikh Mukhtraa playing the same kind of roles that would later be played by amitabh Bachchan in this angrey young man movies. Sheikh Mukhtar would use his bulky figure for strongarm tactics, and he would leave the task of singing and dancing to the chocolate faced side hero of the movie, which happens to be Feroz Khan in this movie.

Here is a party song from this movie. This song is picturised on Helen and that makes it a Helen song as well. And no, it is not a cabarat song. It is a club dancer song that Helen lip syns here.

The song is sung by Asha Bhonsle. Akhtar Romani is the lyricist. Usha Khanna is the music director.

The picturisation shows Feroz Khan and a lady (who I guess is Lolita Chatterji) in attendance in the club and they seem to have some other business of their own in their minds.

It is a superb song which I became aware of only recently. It is a forgotten gem from an obscure B grade movie.

Song-I love you you love me (Raat Andheri Thhi) (1967) Singer-Asha Bhonsle, Lyrics-Akhtar Romani, MD-Usha Khanna
chorus=Blue

Lyrics

I love you
you love me
I love you
you love me
o mere jeewan saathi
o mere jeewan saathi
I love you
you love me

kehne ko khud ye nigaahen
uthte huye jhukti jaayen
jaise mere saath raahen
chalte huye rukti jaayen
jaane ye kyaa bekhudi hai
madhosh si zindagi hai
I love you
you love me

o mere jeewan saathi
o mere jeewan saathi
I love you
you love me

jaagi huyi zindagi mein
armaan badalne lage hain
soyi huyi roshni mein
sapne machalne lage hain
naghme ko tum saaz de do
aise mein aawaaz de do
I love you
you love me

o mere jeewan saathi
o mere jeewan saathi
I love you
you love me

kal ajnabi ban ke aaye
aaj hamsafar ban gaye ho
nazron se dil mein samaaye
meri nazar ban gaye ho
baanhon ke de do sahaare
reh reh ke dhadkan pukaare
I love you
you love me
I love you
you love me

o mere jeewan saathi
o mere jeewan saathi
I love you
you love me

I love you
you love me

I love you
you love me
I love you
you love me

I want some information about Lolita Chatterjee,
whether she is the same Lolita chatterjee, who was there in Rajesh Khanna`s AAPKI KASAM.In that movie, she appeared in only 2 or 3 scenes as wife of Sanjeev kumar, who always shouts at sanjeev kumar???In that movie her face also clearly not visible properly, but
I have seen Lolita Chatterjee`s name in the title cards of “AAPKI KASAM”.

By facial features, the one who appears in this song and the one I am talking about, seems to be the same actress.

Just now I have checked the IMDB site, Lolita chatterjee`s name is there among the starcast of AAPKI KASAM.

I haven`t checked the IMDB before, Because most of the time the information availabe there is misleading. One can`t rely on that information.

Just now I watched the movie on DVD, LOLITA CHATTERJEE`s name is there in the credit cards of the movie.

I watched the lady in the song picturisation and recognised it is the same lady of aapki kasam by her somewhat different structure of NOSE(Now please don`t laugh at my description…such MADNESS about these movies, I don`t know where it leads me.?????!!!!!!!)

I have a clear memory about the title cards of the movie AAPKI KASAM written as LOLITA, but I did have a nagging doubt regarding whether Lolita CHATTERJEE or Lolita CHAKRAVARTHY,then I thought about you, and simply put forward my query before you thinking that
“JAB AAP HAIN THO PHIR KAAHE KA DOUBT,aapne kabhi hamein NIRAASH NAHIN KIYA”

Thanks for the followup and love you always for that.Further I want to convey my thoughts to you.”I cherish every line of information you are providing to us about the movies”.THANKS again for that.

regards
