Jiyunga jab talak tere fasaane yaad aayenge

Posted on: November 16, 2011

“Chingaari” (1955) is an obscure movie which was produced by Cooperatives pictures production. S Srivastava directed the movie. This movie had actors like Shekhar, Nalini Jaywant, Leela Misra, Sunalini Devi, Pran etc in it.

The movie as well as its music are lying deeply buried under the sands of time.

I recently came across a song from this movie. Here is this song for the listening pleasure of the music lovers. The song is sung by Talat Mehmood. Sahir Ludhainvi is the lyricist.

The music director of this movie is Manohar. This music director was Manohar Arora, not to be confused with Manoharlal Sonik, who also operated during that period.

Song-Jiyungaa jab talak tere fasaane yaad aayenge (Chingaari)(1955) Singer-Talat Mehmood, Lyrics-Sahir Ludhianvi, MD-Manohar Arora

Lyrics

jiyungaa jab talak
tere fasaane yaad aayenge
jiyungaa jab talak
tere fasaane yaad aayenge
kasak bankar
muhabbat ke taraane yaad aayenge

mujhe to zindagi bhar ab
teri yaadon pe jeenaa hai
mujhe to zindagi bhar ab
teri yaadon pe jeenaa hai
teri yaadon pe jeenaa hai
tujhe bhi kyaa kabhi
guzre zamaane yaad aayenge
tujhe bhi kyaa kabhi
guzre zamaane yaad aayenge

kahin goonjegi shehnaai
to legaa dard angdaai
kahin goonjegi shehnaai
to legaa dard angdaai
to legaa dard angdaai
hazaaron gham tere gham ke
bahaane yaad aayenge
hazaaron gham tere gham ke
bahaane yaad aayenge
jiyungaa jab talak
tere fasaane yaad aayenge

Atul ji,
The Music Director MANOHAR is NOT Manohar Khanna.
He is Manoharlal Sonik of the Sonik Omi composer duo.
I have given detailed information on him 0n 9-1–2011,as comments on the song ‘Hello sweety seventeen’ from film Doctor Z.

So it means that Manoharlal Khanna was not credited as music director in any movie ? In youtube, Manoharlal Khanna was described as the music director of this movie. Of course comments of youtube should never be taken at face value.

Atul ji/Sudhir ji,

Please correct the name of music director as ‘Manohar Arora’.

The 78 RPM record which I had with me until recently, carried the name of music director as ‘Manohar’. Monohar Lal Sonik as a solo music director used the name as ‘Master Sonik’.
