“Qawwali Ki Raat” (1964) is a Durgesh Productions movie. It was directed by Durgesh Kumar and Santosh. This movie, which was clearly inspired from “Barsaat Ki Raat” has some lovely songs in it, which are great to listen to, even though the movie itself was a B grade movie with only small time actors in it, viz. Aruna Irani, Kamaljeet, Kumkum, Mumtaz, Deven Verma, Mohan Choti, Jagdeep, Murad etc in it.
Here is a lovely song from this movie. It is sung by Rafi and Mubarak Begam. I cannot identify too many of the artists who figure in this picturisation and I request our knowledgeable readers to help identify them.
Shewan Rizvi is the lyricist. Music is composed by Iqbal Qureshi.
