Atul’s Song A Day- A choice collection of Hindi Film & Non-Film Songs

Door hote nahin jo dil mein raha karte hain

Posted on: May 31, 2012

“Waaris” (1954) was a Minerva Movietone production. It was directed by Nitin Bose. The movie had Talat Mehmood, Suraiyya, Jagdish Sethi, Nadira, Sadat Ali, Meheli Modi, Yakub, Achla Sachdev, Roopmala etc in it.

As many as six songs from this movie have already been discussed. Here is the seventh song from this movie. This song is sung by Talat Mehmood and Suraiyya and it is picturised on them as well.

Majrooh Sultanpuri is the lyricist. Anil Biswas who left for the heavenly abode this day (31st may) nine years ago composed the music.

Here is this nice song from “Waaris” (1954) as a tribute to Anil Biswas.

Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Khyati Bhatt.

Song-Door hote nahin jo dil mein raha karte hain (Waaris)(1954) Singers-Talat Mehmood, Suraiyya, Lyrics-Majrooh Sultanpuri, MD-Anil Biswas

Lyrics(Provided by Khyati Bhatt)

door hote nahin
jo dil mein raha karte hain
door hote nahin
tere kadamo mein rahen
hum ye duaa karte hai
tere kadamo mein rahen

ab milaaya mere malik to
chhudaana naa hamein
ab milaaya mere malik to
chhudaana naa hamein
hum to wo dil hain jo
kismat se mila karte hain
tere kadamo mein rahen

hum wo raahi hain jo khush hain
ke jali shamm e wafa
ham wo raahi hain jo khush hain
ke jali shamm e wafa
raah ka shikwa naa
manzil ka gilaa karte hain
door hote nahin

aake saahil pe hai yoon kashti ye
dil ka dhadka
aake saahil pe hai yoon kashti ye
dil ka dhadka
kabhi saahil se bhi
toofaan uthaa karte hain
tere kadamo mein rahen

tinke chunte hain wohi
jinko nasheman ki ho dhun
tinke chunte hain wohi
jinko nasheman ki ho dhun
dukh jo sehte hain woh
aakhir ko hansa karte hain
dukh jo sehte hain woh
aakhir ko hansa karte hain
door hote nahin
jo dil mein raha karte hain
