“Aadmi” (1968) was produced by P S Veerappa and directed by A Bhim Singh. The movie had Dilip Kumar, Waheeda Rehman, Manoj Kumar, Simmi, Pran, Agha, Ullhas, Mohan Choti, Padma Chauhan, Shivraj, Sulochana Latkar, Nataraj etc.

I love this song! It lifts one’s spirits, including mine! I was looking at all the flowers in the background and they were so beautiful, matching the lyrics and the mood of the song. I saw the movie a very, very long time back, and I remember it as a gloomy movie, which was not welcome at the time, since we had just finished our 2nd year exams, and we wanted to enjoy ourselves before leaving for our respective homes.

‘Aadmi’ was a very good remake of the Tamil movie, ‘Aalayamani’. It starred Sivaji Ganesan, B Sarojadevi, S S Rajendran and Sowkar Janaki (not too sure). Dilip Kumar , Waheeda Rehman, Manoj and Simi did the respective roles in ‘Aadmi’. It’s basically a story of friendship, secrets and deceit. The surprise of this movie was Manoj, who was a perfect foil for Dilip Kumar! He kept pace with the thespian admirably.
Manoj was a good actor who got caught in the ‘Main hoon Bharat’ rut. He may have been popular but I still feel that his non-Bharat roles were far superior!
The Naushad- Shakeel Badayuni combo came out with some really good songs in ‘Aadmi’.

I believe Manoj Kumar got back problems and he became very stiff by early 70s. His movements were limited and that kinda affected his acting. And then he was mostly making movies himself or working in Sohanlal Kanwar movies.
