“First Love”(1961) was a Natraj production movie. It was directed by Ved Mohan. The movie had Mehmood, Preetibala, Naaz, Raj Mehra, Amar etc in it.
The movie itself was no great shakes, but the music of this movie was something different. The music failed to take off thanks to the falure of the movie, but it can be safely stated that the music of this music, unlike the movie, lives on as far as music lovers are concerned.
Here is a wonderful song from “First Love” (1961). It is sung by Mukesh. Gulshan Bawra is the lyricist. Music is composed by Dattaram.

Yes, that’s a wonderful duet, Derubala ji! All I remember about ‘First Love’ is that I was in the VII Std when this movie was released. Mehmood plays the role of a boxer. And finally, I couldn’t see ‘First Love’ as I didn’t have even the faintest shadow on my upper lip! ‘First Love’ had been given an ‘A’ certificate…………….
